About Us

Partners in Tourism is a group of passionate and forward-thinking tourism professionals who have identified the importance of giving back to the tourism and hospitality industry as well as the local community.

Partners in Tourism was created to foster future generations of tourism and hospitality industry professionals.

B.C.’s tourism and hospitality sector is a thriving and integral part of the local economy, generating a total of $23 billion in revenue and directly employs more than 113,000 people across accommodation, food and beverage, adventure tourism attractions, events and conferences, transportation, and tourism services. Together, these sectors offer diverse career pathways in one of the province’s most dynamic industries. With over 17,000 tourism businesses operating in British Columbia, there are opportunities to start a fulfilling career.

Behind the Name

The name Partners in Tourism was conceived with the notion that all parties, services, and offerings are related and contribute to the local tourism and hospitality industry; therefore, all parties are partners of the industry. With this in mind, the society will continue to raise funds to support our future generations and grow B.C.’s economy through educational bursaries and opportunities for professional development within the wide-reaching industry.

Since 2006, the society has provided funding for special projects including the purchasing of culinary equipment, professional development, and financial assistance to hospitality students.

Annual Giving

The Partners in Tourism Invitational Golf Tournament (formally TIP) was established in 2006 to foster future generations of tourism professionals through scholarships and awards raised primarily through the annual golf tournament. With the goal of supporting career opportunities in tourism, we provide support through bursaries, careers fairs, and internships.

Les Clefs d’Or Bursary

Partners in Tourism Invitational Golf Tournament is thrilled to support the professional concierge association Les Clefs d’Or Canada, BC Region by sponsoring one member to attend an International Congress. The Partners in Tourism Bursary provides the member with an opportunity to network with colleagues from around the world, attend the Education Symposium and the Annual General Meeting of the association.

The prestigious members of Les Clefs d’Or are the foundation of hospitality within our hotels and are true ambassadors to the city. Every year they volunteer to tirelessly campaign for sponsorship, donations and fulfill positions to ensure Partners in Tourism Invitational Golf Tournament is a memorable event.
