The adventure tourism industry encompasses tourism in which tourists engage in adventure activities such as hiking, rafting, skydiving, trekking, climbing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and the likes.

One of the key benefits to working in the adventure tourism industry is you get to see people explore new experiences, and may even partake as a guide. In British Columbia, this may mean working in Whistler on the ski-hill, or in the Okanagan offering mountain biking or on Vancouver Island encouraging surfing in Tofino. Adventure tourism can take you far and wide around the world as people look for new places and experiences to explore.
